The movement of the green safety guard tells you
that each can is inserted properly and mixing. If a
green safety guard is not fluttering, it
means the can is not engaged into the machine properly
and the can at that station is not being mixed.
The expanding bolt, when installed correctly,
will secure the drive shafts in place. Failure to do
so will cause damage to the drive system. See assembly
instructions for more information.
The drive shafts do not require couplers to connect
them. The A5 base unit has a special sized shaft that
is already installed into the motor and drive gear.
As you attach the next mix unit, you will install its
shaft through the drive gear and into the base unit
below.
The pulley on the far left side of the machine is
adjustable. Loosen the attaching bolt and slide the
pulley to the left to tighten the belt.
Note: In most cases the belts will not need to be adjusted.
The belts do not need to be very tight to operate properly.
It is OK and correct if the belt has some slack in it
across the back of the powerhead.
The gallon units have an additional shelf that snaps
onto the back of the powerhead and gives you additional
storage space to place a second gallon can behind the
mixing can. See assembly instructions for proper assembly
information.
