The movement of the orange safety guard tells you
that each can is inserted properly and mixing. If an
orange safety guard is not fluttering, it
means the can is not engaged into the machine properly
and the can at that station is not being mixed.
The expanding bolt, when installed correctly, will
secure the drive shafts in place. Failure to do so will
cause damage to the drive system. See assembly instructions
for more information.
For safety reasons, the assembled machine must be
securely anchored to the floor to prevent tipping. Each
foot has two holes that allow the anchoring to the floor;
use the appropriate fasteners for your application.
The drive shafts do not require couplers to connect
them. The first shaft that you install into the motor
is a special size shaft (located in the motor box).
Install shaft through the drive gear of the bottom unit
into the motor gear. After attaching this special size
shaft to the motor, install the shafts (provided with
each unit) through the drive gear and into the drive
gear of the unit below.
The pulley on the far left side of the machine is
adjustable. Loosen the attaching bolt and slide the
pulley to the left to tighten the belt.
Note: In most cases the belts will not need to be adjusted.
The belts do not need to be very tight to operate properly.
It is OK and correct if the belt has some slack in it
across the back of the powerhead.
The support rods need to be installed before you
place the paint cans on the machine. It is best to install
the rods starting from the bottom shelf first and working
your way up the machine one unit at a time. Make sure
the rods are lined up properly (each end of the rod
should be located on the same hole in each unit).
