Mixing Shelf
Assembly
- Why
is it necessary to install the expanding bolt
into the top drive gear after the machine is assembled?
The expanding bolt, when installed correctly, will
secure the drive shafts in place. Failure to do so will
cause damage to the drive system. See assembly instructions
for more information.
- How
important is it to attach the machine to the wall
For safety reasons, the assembled machine must be
securely anchored to the wall to prevent tipping. Use
the wall brackets enclosed in the base box
- Can
I install the motor on the left hand side of the machine?
No - the motor can only be installed on the right
hand side of the machine.
- How
do I attach the drive shafts together?
The drive shafts do not require couplers to connect them together. The first shaft that you install into the motor is a special sized shaft. The shaft is located in the motor box. If this shaft is installed first the other shafts will line up correctly inside the drive gears in the mixing shelf.
- The
powerhead belt is loose or sloppy. How do I adjust
it?
The pulley on the far left side of the machine is
adjustable. Loosen the attaching bolt and slide the
pulley to the left to tighten the belt.
Note: In most cases the belts will not need to be adjusted.
The belts do not need to be very tight to operate properly.
It is OK and correct if the belt has some slack in it
across the back of the powerhead.
- What
is the maximum number of shelves I can stack?
For safety reasons, machines can only be assembled
up to seven shelves high.
- Why
do I have one or two extra drive shafts left over
after I completely assemble the Alliance machine?
The Alliance machine allows you the flexibility to
mix either gallons or quarts on the bottom of your machine.
The motor box has one gallon motor shaft and may also
contain one quart shaft. These are special shafts used
for attachment to the motor. When you choose your mixing
shelf to place on the bottom, a shaft will be included
with that mixing shelf. The shaft in the mixing shelf
will not be used, because you have already used the
shaft from the motor box. Therefore, you will have an
extra mixing shelf shaft and may also have an extra
motor shaft if two were included in your motor box.
- There are not
any "fingers" at each mixing station to hold
the cans on my Alliance machine. What is supposed to
keep the cans in place?
Alliance machines manufactured after May 1, 2004
(with green colored safety guards) do not require a
“finger” to hold the cans in place. Our
new Elite mixing lids have a raised “tower”
behind the paddle shaft that will fit into the slot
below the green safety guard. This tower will hold the
can in place. If your lids do not have this feature,
please call 800-521-7086 to receive a retrofit part
that will attach to your existing lids.
- The first shaft
I installed is too long and sticks up above the first
drive gear, why?
The drive shafts do not require couplers to connect
them. The first shaft that you install into the motor
is a special size shaft. This shaft is located in the
motor box. Remove the shaft you installed and replace
it with the shaft from the motor box.
